We are at the end of the ‘50s: an interesting series of armchairs and sofas, designed by Roberto Menghi and called Hall joins arflex collection. In these years the design tends not to be only for “élite”. The birth of other magazines in the wake of Domus, Triennale, the specialized exhibitions manage to raise wider layers of distributors and audience. The armchair Hall receives in 1959 the honorable mention for the Compasso d’Oro. The frame and the armrests of the armchair and of the sofa are realized in metal and covered in shaped polyurethane foam. The base is made of wood, in the colors of arflex collection.

Roberto Menghi was an architect of both public and private works. There are several houses built for friends and acquaintances. Between his works we want to underline casa Rocca al Campanone in Brianza area, casa Bassetti at Alz (Como), casa Rognoni in Pavia, casa Franchetti in Capo Ceraso (Olbia) and in Maine (USA), casa Biancardi in Maccastorna, casa Sella in Sant'Ilario (Elba isle).
